Maciver Consultancy Services

Initially Malcolm worked for Tarmac Construction Major Projects Division on the Thames Barrier, Drax "B" Power Station and A38 Derby Bypass and gained valuable design experience in the Tarmac Central Engineering Department. Malcolm returned to Stornoway in 1983 to work for Costain Civil Engineering Ltd on the Royal Air Force NATO Project.

The Ardnamor flats project consisted of the construction of twelve flats and four retail units. The project was a design and build contract with Donald Macfarlane Ltd as the Contractor. The Architectural Consultant was Philip McLean and the Quanity Surveyor was The Grovebury Partnership. Maciver Consultancy Services Ltd provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services.

The Haldane flats project consisted of the construction of twenty one flats for Hebridean Housing Partnership. The Architect on the project was Anderson Associates and the Quanity Surveyor was The Rennie Partnership. Maciver Consultancy Services Ltd provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services.

The Architect on the project was Stuart Bagshaw and the Quanity Surveyor was The Rennie Partnership. Maciver Consultancy Services Ltd provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services. Local contractor John Murray & Co successfully completed the work. The structural engineering aspect of the project included the design of a steel frame and composite concrete decking for the Youth Club section of the building.

The Gibson Gardens project consisted of the construction of 23 affordable housing units for Hebridean Housing Parternship at a total project cost of 3.5million. Maciver Consultancy Services Ltd provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services. The construction work was completed by Lewis Builders.
