Services
What to do when someone dies
Report
When a death occurs at home, you will need to contact your family doctor (or doctor on call) who will issue a medical certificate of death. Most families prefer their loved one to be taken to the chapel of rest as soon as possible and this can be arranged by telephoning us at any time. The nursing staff or administrative officer will advise the next of kin and arrange for them to collect the medical certificate of death.
Arranging a funeral
Report
Arrange a date and time for the funeral, according to your instructions. We will contact the church, cemetery or crematorium and/or the person who will be conducting the service, to arrange a mutually convenient date and time. Transfer the deceased to their premises, or provide practical assistance to allow the deceased to remain at home prior to the funeral, if this is your request.
Burial or Cremation
Report
A churchyard or cemetery is the most common place of burial, however you can also choose to be buried in a woodland site or at sea. Some families have a family plot within a cemetery. You can choose to hold the funeral service at the crematorium itself or at a church beforehand if preferred.

After cremation some families keep their loved ones ashes in a casket as a memorial, whilst others prefer to have them buried in a churchyard or cemetery or scatter them in a sentimental place. We offer a large choice of memorials and headstones from skilled craftsmen.

If you wish to visit our private chapel, please ring and inform us when you would like to come and we will make the necessary arrangements. We can bring the deceased home on either the evening before the service or on the morning of the service so that the deceased may leave from home. In each limousine there is room for six people in the rear compartment and room for one in the front with the chauffeur.
