Our original branch was at 294 Brockley Road, At first there were just two staff, Bill and his daughter Nicki but they were soon joined by others including Nicki's son Will. We now have 5 other full-time members of staff, Ross, Keith and Shaun with Jeanette and Sue in the offices. We also own Honor Oak Florist in Honor Oak Park which is run by Lisa and Mandy.
Since 2019 our branches have been collection points for Southwark and Lewisham food banks on behalf of the Trussell Trust. William Dunphy is a Roman Catholic deacon who works closely with the parish of St. Mary Magdalene in Brockley. However, we undertake funerals for people of all denominations, faiths and those with no faith.

Choosing whether to have a cremation or a burial is a personal decision and it can be difficult as there are many factors involved, including family tradition, religion or the deceased's wishes. There are lots of rules and regulations governing cemeteries but the one that affects families most is the one that says the deceased usually has to reside in the Borough where the cemetery is located.

At William Dunphy we do not do a set package for funerals as we believe not every funeral is the same, Our staff will go through all the options with you and let you chose the perfect funeral for your loved one.
Our Coffins
Report
We sell coffins from around 10 different manufacturers. They vary from a simple cardboard style through to veneers, solid woods, picture coffins and wicker or even wool. Our casket selection is also quite varied and they are made of wood or metal. Some cemeteries will charge a 'casket supplement' and some don't allow them at all, so it's always best to check with us.
