CRGV (Cutaneous and Renal Glomerular Vasculitis) or Alabama Rot is a newly recognised disease in the UK. We do not yet know what is causing this disease, but there have been cases recognised in the Stoke-on-Trent area recently. The disease is often fatal. However, the transmission of the disease is currently unknown, but it does not seem to be passed between dogs or to affect people.

Some breeds of dogs, most notably pugs and Shih Tzus, suffer from a condition whereby the cornea, which is the surface of the eye begins to darken and develop patches of pigment where it should be crystal clear.
