Experiences
Report
One step from the castle's front door are 32 acres of fresh air, countryside, gardens and our own herd of Roe deer to keep a watchful eye as guests walk, jog and ramble across the estate. The Walled Garden has a tennis court, stripey lawns to play croquet, boules, football and basketball and we can organise a programme of activities on our 32-acre estate to keep you busy.
Food & Drink
Report
Sample award-winning culinary delights from the kitchen of Carlowrie's inspiring chef Iain MacDonald. Iain is passionate about two things: exceptional quality local produce and innovation in the kitchen. Hailing from the very heart of Scotland in the foothills of the Highlands, Iain has grown up with the finest of our country's larder from as far back as he can remember.
Grounds
Report
Carlowrie Castle has 32 acres of manicured parkland overseen by our Head Gardener, Andrew Oliver and his team. Isobel Wylie Hutchion's legacy can be seen across the Carlowrie Estate. She planted many plants in the grounds, including rare species that she brought back from her travels.
Between expeditions and in later life Isobel worked tirelessly in the Victorian glasshouses and carefully preserved the layout of the formal gardens which still exist today.
