Our well equipped factory boasts turning and milling machines, that are fitted with equipment at the cutting edge of machining technology. This includes sliding head and twin lathes together, with sub-spindle and driven tooling, all fed by magazine bar loading capability.

The company was registered in 1982 by Don Newport, the company expanded very quickly from the beginning and we now employ 21 people, many of which have served with us for over ten years. Since opening in 1982 DRN has specialised in the manufacture of components up to 65mm in diameter, this includes turning, milling, drilling, tapping, heat treatment and plating.

DRN offer the sub-contract machining of precision turned components in a wide range of batch sizes. A typical small batch size for DRN is 100 and is often the product of a 3 metre bar. Production quantities are not a problem as we have magazine bar loading capabilities, a typical production run could be 5,000 for example.

Typical batch quantities in our machine shop are 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000,1500, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000. We do not normally find that we manufacture in quantities above those shown because CNC machine tools are not cost effective in this range. We often manufacture quantities from 50 upwards although we will manufacture smaller batches under the following circumstances.
