Ravenscar is situated within the North York Moors National Park: a hugely diverse area offering a stunning coastline of towering cliffs, rocky shores and sandy beaches, and the largest continuous expanse of moorland in England and Wales. Millview Cottage is located on the edge of the village, at the southern end of Robin Hood's Bay, and midway between the seaside spa town of Scarborough and the fishing port of Whitby.
The local area is popular with walkers, cyclists and fossil hunters as well as those just wishing to relax whilst enjoying the stunning scenery. The Cleveland Way coastal path, the Whitby to Scarborough trailway, and the picturesque village of Robin Hoods Bay are all close by; and take the opportunity to explore Ravenscar itself for remnants of 'the town that never was'.
