Named after the ancient Roman road upon which it resides, The Akeman Inn in Kingswood existed as a coaching inn for 200 years, until the mid-19th century. Situated between Bicester and Aylesbury, this substantial building offers a lounge and bar area with a range of comfortable seating options and open fireplace, a modern restaurant with timber beams and an open kitchen, views of open countryside, and ample parking.
From 11am Monday to Friday, and 9am on Saturday and Sunday, we serve a seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired menu based on sustainable, quality ingredients. Traceable from farm to fork, our meat and poultry come from British farms, our eggs are free range, and our fish is responsibly sourced from suppliers approved by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

Our expert pizzaiolos craft genuine wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas. The 00 flour, tomato sauce and Fior di Latte mozzarella are all sourced from Naples. The dough is proved for longer resulting in a lighter crust. Cooked in the wood-fired oven, every pizza has a unique smokey flavour and is authentically charred, something that is impossible to replicate with a gas or traditional home oven.
