Established in 2002, The Cornmill at Kirby Mills is a family-run guest house and self-catering accommodation provider nestled on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Owned and operated by Karen and Chris Tinkler, our property combines historical charm with modern comforts, offering five elegantly appointed guest rooms and two converted stable cottages. The 18th-century watermill building retains original features while providing contemporary amenities, including wireless broadband, eco-conscious practices, and locally sourced breakfast ingredients. Our courtyard, gardens, and adjacent paddocks with native wildlife create a tranquil setting for guests exploring the region's cultural and natural attractions.

Two fully equipped 'topsy-turvy' cottages converted from historic stables. Each sleeps two guests with king-size beds, modern kitchen facilities, and living areas offering countryside views. Complimentary towels and wireless internet included.
Breakfast Service
Award-winning breakfasts featuring 9 cooked options, fresh produce, and locally sourced ingredients. Served daily between 7:45-9:00 AM in our riverside dining room with mill race viewing panel.

The Cornmill was my wife and I's wedding suite. It was the perfect size for us and our groomsmen and partners. Beautiful place, oozing quality, breakfast cooked to order. Stayed here this weekend for a friends wedding nearby. The room was lovely, hosts very friendly & Covid aware.... & the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely recommend staying here. Well done x

The location is beautiful and teaming with wildlife. The hotel is fascinating and they have done an excellent job converting the mill, maintaining interesting features and lots of personality. Lots of wardrobe space and good mirrors in the comfortable, inviting bedroom. Breakfast is delicious and cooked to order with great coffee. The deep bath feels very luxurious and the beds are heavenly. The hotel is well maintained and the owners are very nice and very helpful. A pleasure to stay at and would highly recommend.

Stayed here for one night, the owners Karen and Chris were so pleasant and they knew lots of recommendations for where to eat and what places to visit when we left the next morning. The room was gorgeous and had a lovely en-suite. Breakfast the next morning was in
the old mill part of the B and B which had a quirky feature of the old wheel water source. We will definitely consider this establishment if in the area again.

Another great stay at Cornmill. Karen and Chris are fantastic people, very attentive and friendly. The rooms are decorated with great taste and very comfortable. All my stays were for 5 days and work related but I would definitely stay there for a holidays in the Moors. Hopefully see you again!

I have enjoyed several stays at the cornmill whilst working in the area. Each of the bedrooms are spacious, clean and tidy with classic style bedrooms and modern ensuite bathrooms. Karen and her husband the owners of the cornmill always meet you with a friendly welcome and are happy to assist where they can. In the morning there is a generous breakfast to start your day providing a selection of cereal and juices followed by cooked breakfast of your choosing. In terms of the location, the cornmill is situated on a quiet residential street approx 10 minutes walk from the town centre so is in easy

A repeat visit after visiting for the last 3/4 years. This time for our honeymoon, The Cornmill is amazing as always and feels like our home away from home. Karen & Chris are excellent hosts and very responsive if you have any queries about your stay or knowledge about the local area. Cooked breakfast in the morning is a must I highly recommend the black pudding!. This time we spent 4 nights in room 5 which we chose last year as our room for our honeymoon.
