Trusted Plastic Extrusion Toolmakers Since 1961
Established in 1961, Range Valley Engineering has pioneered plastic extrusion toolmaking in the UK. Our dedicated team developed a proprietary tooling system that streamlines manufacturing and reduces lead times. Utilising SolidWorks CAD and Charmilles EDM technology, we design and produce all tooling in-house. As innovators, we launched the UK's first fully approved PVCu window system with Weatherseal in 1978.Our expertise spans complex profile extrusions, reverse engineering of obsolete tooling, and manufacturing custom die systems for polymers including PVC, ABS, and nylon. With ISO9001 accreditation, we provide comprehensive support from concept to final design, serving diverse industries with single and twin-screw extrusion lines.

Services
Extrusion Toolmaking
Specialist plastic extrusion toolmaking since 1961. Our in-house production uses SolidWorks CAD and Charmilles EDM machinery to create precision tooling systems. This reduces manufacturing times by 40% while maintaining dimensional accuracy to 0.01mm for PVCu window profiles and industrial extrusions.
Reverse Engineering
Digital reconstruction of obsolete extrusion profiles using coordinate measuring machines. We convert physical tooling into CAD models with 0.02mm precision. This service supports legacy system upgrades and patent-protected profile replication for manufacturers without original tooling documentation.
Die Manufacturing
Production of multi-plate dies for complex polymer extrusions. Capable of creating twin-outlet pipe dies and post-extruded window beads. We work with 8+ polymer types including rigid/flexible PVC, ABS, TPE, and nylon, supporting throughput rates from 10-280kg/hr.
CAD Design
Computer-aided design for extrusion tooling optimisation. Our engineers use SolidWorks to simulate material flow and thermal performance. This reduces prototyping costs by 30% through virtual testing before physical production begins.
3D Prototyping
Additive manufacturing for pre-production tooling validation. We create functional prototypes using industrial 3D printers with 0.1mm accuracy. This allows clients to test profile geometry and material performance before committing to full-scale tooling production.
Questions
What plastic extrusion services do you offer?
We manufacture extrusion tooling for PVCu windows, industrial profiles, and complex polymer shapes. Services include die making, reverse engineering, CAD design, and 3D prototyping for 8+ polymer types.
How experienced are your engineers?
Our team has 60+ years collective experience in extrusion toolmaking. Engineers have worked with leading European manufacturers and hold certifications in CAD design and polymer processing technologies.
Are you ISO accredited?
Yes, we maintain ISO9001 accreditation for quality management systems. This covers all processes from initial design through to final product delivery and customer support.
Can you replicate obsolete tooling?
Yes, our reverse engineering service digitises existing profiles to create new CAD models. This allows reproduction of tooling no longer supported by original manufacturers using coordinate measuring machine technology.
What polymer materials do you work with?
We manufacture tooling for PVC rigid/flexible, ABS, TPE, TPR, EVA, nylon.6/12, and polypropylene. Our extrusion lines handle materials with durometers ranging from 40 Shore A to 85 Shore D.
