Award-Winning Scottish Restaurant in Ullapool
Established in the heart of Ullapool, The Seaforth has evolved from a historic storehouse into a celebrated culinary destination. Our journey began in 1788 as a salt and net store, transforming through roles as a fishery, pub, and inn before becoming the award-winning restaurant and bar we are today. Under the leadership of General Manager Jody Keating and Head Chef Bolton Chore, we combine Scottish tradition with global influences, sourcing langoustines from Lochbroom waters, North Atlantic haddock, and Stornoway black pudding. Recognised with a Sluurpy Certificate of Excellence in 2023 and finalist status in the 2024 Scottish Fish & Chips Awards, our commitment to sustainability and quality is matched by our dedication to warm Highland hospitality.

The restaurant's prime location at Lochbroom Harbour offers breathtaking views, complemented by indoor and outdoor seating areas including beer gardens. Our team, many with decades of experience in hospitality, ensures every guest experiences the authenticity of Scottish cuisine paired with South African influences. From our twice-fried chips made with hand-cut potatoes to our biodegradable packaging initiatives, we balance tradition with innovation. The Seaforth's history is woven into every dish, from award-winning fish and chips to our seasonal Long Days & Lochside Feasts menu, making us a destination for both locals and visitors exploring the NC500 route.

It was a long line during holiday season. But the staff was very helpful and serve my order fast like a flash. The only cons imho is the chips a bit soggy but I am not bothered. Can't wait to visit this place again soon.

My Husband and I called in here last month as We were travelling round Scotland in camper-van. I am not a fish person so asked husband to get large chips and fish for himself. When he returned the fabulous smell from container made my mouth water, I started on my chips but I asked husband if I could just try a small piece of his fish as it looked amazing. First taste and I was hooked so I ended up eating most of his fish. I would highly recommend if you are near Ullapool call in at the Seaforth you won't be dissapointed. Next time We are up there We will definitely call in again.

My family and I love this place. The staff for a start were friendly and accommodating. The food served were fresh and really tasty. My son who is picky with food cleaned up his plate and my daughter wants to come back here the next time we come to Scotland again. I do not mind the price of the food because the portions are big, tasty and fresh.

Just passing through and popped in for lunch, lovely welcoming, friendly and attentive staff, priced accordingly for the high quality of food. I would highly recommend giving this place a try, decent tunes also.

Had a delicious lunch here! Pet friendly too which is always a bonus. Had the vegan Fish Fillets which I really enjoyed and my fianc had the Langoustine. Love that there was the option to have a vegan "fish" and chips option! My fianc's mum had the regular fish and chips which she also enjoyed. Portion sizes were huge for fish and chips and veg "fish" and chips, definitely worth it. There is an outside undercover area too which is great with pretty views of the water.

Beautiful Scottish bar. Excellent service and excellent food. I never thought I would need to say that - perhaps they should serve less on the plate. Nevertheless the food was fresh and tasty, and I loved it.

Enjoyed the scampi and chips (10.50) very much. All was fresh and I especially appreciated the chips which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with excellent flavour. The dressed side salad (included free of charge) was a nice touch that I hope other chippies will adopt. Could have been slightly more generous with the scampi and could have offered salt and sauces at the counter to save me having to open (complimentary) sachets and apply myself. The queuing system with handheld buzzers when your order is ready works well. Decent disposable and environmentally friendly cutlery was
