Our first site opened in 2003 and is a bungalow set in peaceful woodland in the grounds of John Cabot Academy in Kingswood. Established in 1993 the nurseries are both owned and managed by Sarah Cook and Donna Pepper.

Sarah and Donna both hold the CACHE Level 4 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development and have over 40 years of experience between them. They are passionate about providing high quality childcare and education and are proud to be part of shaping each child's future. Potterswood Site
Report
Our Potterswood site operates from a bungalow set in peaceful woodland in the grounds of John Cabot Academy. We are lucky to have our own private woodland area adjoining the nursery which both sites use for our Forest School sessions. Both our sites house separate baby facilities. In this warm environment our staff care for up our babies aged six weeks to two years old.
Forest School
Report
We are lucky enough to have our own private Forest area at our Potterswood site adjacent to the nursery. Forest School is based on the Scandinavian model of outdoor education. The concept was introduced to Britain in 1995 by Bridgwater College. Emphasis is placed on building children's confidence and self esteem through practical activities.
Local Offer
Report
The purpose of a local offer is to enable parents and carers see clearly what services are available for children with SEND in their area and how to access them. How does Hillside Day Nursery know if children need extra help and what should I do if I think my child may have a special educational need or a disability?
Curriculum
Report
Our skilled Early Years practitioners extend and scaffold each child's learning using the In The Moment Planning approach. This approach ensures a child is learning in the here and now and not two or three weeks down the line. This makes each child's learning a very individual process and as everything is play based often the children are learning without even realising it!
