As parents ourselves, we have high expectations when it comes to professional childcare. This is reflected in the attention to detail we have taken in developing and nurturing Watermead Day Nursery from its conception over 14 years ago, into an Ofsted OUTSTANDING setting, and something feedback confirms.
Watermead offers unquestionably the best childcare for babies (0 Years) through to pre-school (5 years) to the residents of Loughborough and beyond. It is also the only setting in the region inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of childcare. Key to this philosophy is the understanding of the important roles imagination and discovery play in early childhood learning.

Our story
Report
The original Watermead Day Nursery was designed and built by my father Peter Allen next door to the original family property back in 2004. Since then it has matured into a family run, Ofsted Oustanding facility of which we are immensely proud. Such has been its popularity that in 2016, after much soul-searching, it expanded to include our family home, Brook Farm House.
Brook Farm House Pre-School
Report
Our ambition was to provide the best nursery around. This desire led us to convert our family home into a separate independent setting that directly links to the nursery, but offers dedicated and focused pre-school facilities and care. The design of the building has been considered specifically around the needs of pre-schoolers.

Watermead Day nursery caters for children from birth to 3 years and is set across three levels. Secure access is provided by a finger-print entry system and CCTV is employed throughout the setting. Outdoor play is provided by three areas, one at the front of the property and two at the back.
The front area provides outdoor play specifically for the Robins room, and the two back areas, both accessed through conservatories, provide both a general use area and a secured, enclosed babies area.Hidden away at the bottom of the back garden is the secret garden. An escape area for all the children where they can climb, build and play.

It's all about the children
Report
At Watermead Day Nursery we are proud to use the phrase 'It's all about the children' because, you can be rest assured, everything that is done at the nursery is for the benefit of those under our care. Whether that be new, innovative approaches to room layout, to enhance the experience, or on going staff development, to ensure the children receive the best care available.
