After being stopped by the police and failing a road side swab, I was arrested and taken to a police station where I was required to provide a sample of blood to be tested at a laboratory. I failed to provide the required sample due to a needle phobia. I explained my phobia to the police and the medical practitioner at the police station. The police didnt think my needle phobia was a reasonable excuse for failing to provide a blood sample and I was subsequently charged with failing to provide a blood sample without a reasonable excuse.
