Absolutely awful. We were selling, agreed a completion date with the buyers. Date comes and goes with no communication from solicitors. Our buyers really upset, understandably so! No one returned our frantic calls the next day. It took two days and the last hour to complete. No explanation, no apology, extremely abrupt staff. Atrocious.

After finally completing our house sale I can honestly say Butterworths solicitors are abysmal. Only spoke to them the day before completion, wont respond to concerns, never used my correct name in correspondence. Couldn't even be bothered to send you a printed letter. I could list a load of issues. Just what ever you do don't use these solicitors (Carlisle office)

Butterworths Solicitors have been an absolute dream! My husband and I recently bought our first home and Adele and Grace were incredibly helpful and super efficient. Everyone has remarked at how quickly the sale went through which I do believe is wholly down to them! I would highly recommend working with Butterworths and I will be sure to use them again.

Worst firm I have ever come across. We bought a residential property and this firm acted on the sellers behalf. The property was empty and we were both living at parents houses therefore should have been a very straightforward case. Our solicitors told us this was an easy transaction and we could be in within 4 weeks (I didn't want this as I'm a school teacher and the longer summer holidays were approaching- ideally we wanted it within 7 weeks, the start of the holidays). We eventually, after sending numerous emails instructing them we were pulling out of the sale, received completion on the 31st
