We have a pre-school and primary specialist centre for children with communication and interaction needs (low complexity). We are excited to be able to continue our outstanding provision into key stage 2, and this year we complete our primary journey and welcome our first year six cohort.

West Ewell Primary School is situated in the community of West Ewell, Epsom. Set back from the road we are lucky to be surrounded by wonderful open spaces including Horton country park, the Hogsmill river and local nature reserve. Our school has 20 classes, including a specialist centre for Communication and Interaction Needs (COIN) and a nursery where our youngest children begin their journey aged just two.

We are immensely proud to have been graded 'Outstanding' again after our previous 'Outstanding' inspection in 2007. This reflects all the hard work and dedication by the staff, governors, children and parents and is so well-deserved. Pre-school speech, language and communication needs centre (nursery) and communication and interaction needs centre - low complexity (YR-Y6). Our Primary COIN (low complexity) centre caters for children with recognised developmental language disorders.
The centre staff work very closely with the speech and language therapist and assistant, as well as the mainstream teachers, to enable all children to develop their full learning potential as well as developing social inclusion for all children.We also have 8 part-time places in the Pre-School Centre for Speech, Language and Communication Needs (PSLCN) in our Nursery.

ELSA stands for Emotional Literacy Support Assistant - and Clare Sbiti is the ELSA at our school. They provide on-going professional supervision to help maintain high quality in the work undertaken by ELSAs, thereby helping to ensure safe practice for ELSAs and pupils alike'. I started my ELSA training in 2014 and completed it in 2015.
