An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a legal requirement when properties are marketed for sale, let, or newly constructed, remaining valid for ten years and providing an A to G efficiency rating. EPCs are generated directly from SAP outputs, meaning SAP calculations are essential for producing EPCs in new dwellings and conversions. Properties constructed prior to 2007 are assessed using RdSAP, a reduced-data approach based on non-invasive inspection and standard assumptions.
