Fifth Column
Whether you're a band looking to get some merchandise printed, a charity, an established company or even starting a streetwear brand, Fifth Column can help. We've been screen printing for over 40 years now, so whatever garment and artwork you've got in mind, we've got it covered. Our story starts in 1977 with a group of friends designing and hand printing now-iconic punk rock t-shirts for bands like X-ray Spex, The Clash, The Jam and The Damned.

They cured them in tumble dryers at a local laundrette and sold them outside the London gigs. We're proud of our principles at Fifth Column. That means we care about the rights of our team members and value them as individuals, and we pursue environmentally conscious processes as they evolve - think organic, ethically sourced cotton and vegan-friendly inks.
Services
Our Services
Report
Our versatile set-up within an 11,000 sq ft facility in North London allows us to produce large volume orders as easily as smaller print runs. We can happily work to tight turnarounds, and our clients - both old and new - appreciate that our prices are always transparent. We believe in partnerships.
Screen Printing
Report
We've been doing this for four decades now. Each of our state-of-the-art machines can print 600 garments an hour and we've got the process down to a fine art. That means colour faithful prints that won't fade, that are soft to the touch and long-lasting. We digitally transfer your choice of image to a very fine fabric mesh - or 'screen' - that has been stretched on a frame.
Embroidery
Report
You can't screen print perfectly on every garment, and that's when embroidery comes into its element. It's a stunning way to showcase your logo on jackets, hats, bags and workwear - it's particularly durable and looks and feels premium. When we embroider we apply a logo or design to the fabric using thread.
Direct-to-Garment Printing
Report
This is a printing process that works best for one-off or small print runs and designs that are highly colourful or contain photos/images. It's a growing part of our business at Fifth Column. Direct to Garment (DTG) printing begins with your artwork being converted into a.png file on a computer. After pretreating and heat pressing your garment we print the design straight onto the garment via the printer.
Garment Finishing
Report
After the screen printing; and/or embroidery is done, it's time for the finishing touches to get your garments retail ready: custom labelling, hem tagging, poly bagging and applying stickers all help you put your mark on the product and make it look professional. Wholesale garments have a branded tag attached, which we remove to make way for your custom branding.
