Caledonian Learner Driver Training
Following a hugely enjoyable career in hospitality management, Stewart joined the driver training industry in 2008 and bought Caledonian LDT shortly afterwards. Stewart holds the BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching for Driver Development, is an approved trainer for Tri-Coaching Partnership, and an Accredited Coach for Driver Metrics.

He has passed the DIA Special Test in driving ability. The driving school remains a family owned business. In 2018, Stewart was invited by Tri-Coaching Partnership to deliver their flagship BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching for Driver Development to ADIs in Scotland.

How Many Driving Lessons Will I Need
Report
The national average number of driving lessons taken to pass the driving test is quite high - it's 45 hours with an ADI and 20 hours of private practice with a relative. But it's high for a couple of reasons. Due to pressure from parents or employers, some people tend to book tests before they are ready for them.
Where Do I Start
Report
Once you've turned 17, get your Provisional Licence online, or by asking for a D1 form at your local Post Office. Send it to the DVLA with your payment, proof of ID and a recent photo of yourself. We're all fully qualified (only fully qualified Instructors are allowed to display the green badge in their car), and brilliant at what we do.
How Much Does It Cost
Report
We believe that choosing to learn to drive with Caledonian Learner Driver Training should be one of the best decisions you ever make. That's why we ensure that all our Instructors and Coaches are trained to the highest standard, and consistently encouraged to improve through our own in-house continuing professional development programme.
Automatic Driving Lessons
Report
Automatic vehicles now account for 35-40% of new car sales. This is up from 15-20% since 1998 and seems certain to continue rising towards the 50% mark as we approach 2032 - the deadline set by the Scottish Government for a ban on all new petrol and diesel cars. As the surge towards electric vehicles begins to pick up pace, automatic vehicles are poised to take over the small hatchback market.
Caledonian Electric
Report
The addition of brand-new, all-electric vehicles to our fleet provides Clients with the opportunity to get to grips with the kind of cars that we believe will dominate the roads over the next twenty years and beyond. Experience the cutting edge of new driver technology and learn to drive the zero-emissions way.
