We are Independent Wine Merchants and Importers based in Sheriff Hutton, 10 miles North of York. The majority of our wines are sourced directly from the vineyards which enables us to sell the best quality wines at the best prices. Many of the wines we offer are exclusive to our list. Quality is the most important factor when we are choosing a new wine, and each wine has to be a good representation of the wines from that area and country.
We taste all the wines before we buy and stock them, and we taste each new vintage of every wine before we decide to continue with it. It's a hard life, but somebody has to do it! If a wine is not good enough or a vintage is not good enough then we will not buy it. We carefully (and hopefully in straightforward terms, ) describe our wines in order to help you find exactly the wines you require.

We have a fantastic range of Argentinian wines to suit all tastes and budgets. Malbec is the most commonly found grape variety in Argentina and Argentinian Malbec is renowned around the world. Finca del Alta Malbec is our lowest priced Malbec from Argentina and it is a really easy, approachable wine.

We are particularly pleased to offer Niepoort Ports both vintage and non-vintage, who we believe to be the BEST Port House in terms of Quality and Value for money. We also have some stocks of other older Vintage Ports. As Vintage Port ages it undergoes a metamorphosis, shedding the deep red colour of its youth, adopting golden and tawny hues instead.
Romania

Remarkably Romania has been producing wine for the same amount of time as France but due to the lack of money, expertise and resources the wine has struggled with popularity. Recent history has shown that vineyards used for Umbrele wines were renowned by 1446. This was when Mihall de Ciorna, Lord of Severin bought the Umbrele vineyards for 32 Hungarian gold florins.
