The practice began in 1972 by the amalgamation of 3 single handed practices. It was situated in a house in the Millway until 1998 when it moved to the current 3 storey modern building on Hartley Avenue which it shares with community staff of Barnet Primary Care Trust who occupy most of the 2nd floor.

Car Parking
Report
There is a 'Pay & Display' Car Park at the Practice managed by Euro Car Parks Ltd. with whom any queries should be raised. Parking in the car park is entirely at patients' risk. Disabled badge holders can park in the designated disabled bays for free when they visit the surgery. Please show your disabled badge to the receptionists on the ground floor so you can be registered.
Making the most of your Practice

There are many services available to help you to stay healthy. Some of these services can be accessed directly (see below), and for others you need to be registered with a GP Practice (Surgery). When you wish to consult a GP about your medical condition, you need to contact the Surgery with which you are registered to arrange to be seen.
Medical Training
Report
Millway Medical Practice is approved by Health Education England (HEE) to be a Training practice with certain GPs approved to be trainers. This means we have a variety of learners at the practice seeing patients under the supervision of an experienced GP. GP Specialist Registrar (SpR): This is a fully qualified doctor who has completed their foundation training in hospital and are now specialising in General Practice.
Buddy Group System
Report
The buddy system consists of 3 groups of doctors; each team looks after the patients within that group if one of the members is absent for example during annual leave. Every patient has a usual GP or has been allocated a named GP. The buddy system is based on who the usual GP is and which team they belong to.

Practice Nurses are fully trained in a wide range of skills including immunisations, health promotion, contraception and management of long-term conditions e.g. Our Practice Nurses Gail Nolan, Barbara Fletcher, Claire Yager, Ekene Taylor and Emily Timbrell run their own surgeries for practical nursing procedures and chronic diseases such as Asthma, COPD and Hypertension (see Our Clinics for the full list).
