What We Do

We are one of only a small handful of companies globally that prints genuine beer mats (or drip mats, bar coasters, bar mats or whatever else you want to call them) on a sustainably sourced and thoroughly absorbent pulp board. We have been printing custom mats using our own four-colour litho-printing press for over 15 years, here in the heart of England.
The Difference

There are numerous online retailers out there selling custom beer mats, but only a very small number of these (including Thirsty's of course) produce the real thing themselves. Our beer mat board is extremely absorbent and can be soaked and dried numerous times without losing its shape or bleeding colours.
Litho-Printing

We have our very own offset-litho printing press which has been specially modified to print on super-absorbent beer mat board. This type of printing gets its name from the lithographic limestone that was once used as the plate from which an image was transferred on to paper or any other printing material.

Artwork and Proofs

We advise on colour specifications, font sizes and styles, cut lines and bleed areas. Even experienced designers should familarise themselves with these guidelines as printing beer mats is not the same as printing on other media.
