Woodlands was established over 10 years ago and our ethos has remained the same now as it was back then. We have always strived to provide the best childcare setting possible not only for the children we care for but to raise the standard of childcare in general. We started out with that aim and over the years have gone above and beyond what we expected and hoped for.
This is reflected in our recent OFSTED report in which we again received the highest possible award of 'Outstanding'. We are proud to provide a home from home environment that encourages learning, celebrates and values each and every child. Social Responsibility
Report
We believe that as a childcare provider it is our duty to teach our children about their community, their responsibility to the environment and the people in it. At Woodlands we believe that helping children to understand the world around them and their place in it, inspires our young people to respect others and educates them to value diversity.
Our Kitchen
Report
All of our staff have been trained in food preparation and food hygiene which is vital to maintaining the high standards in our business and we continue to be rated '5' for food hygiene by Hampshire County Council. Nutrition is paramount to ensure children have enough energy to participate in the vast array of activities that are on offer throughout their day.
Our Pets
Report
At Woodlands we have several pets that the children help care for. These include our Guinea Pigs that our children love to visit and feed in the garden, our fish in Busy Bees and 'Butterscotch' our friendly dog that joins us each day. As well as playing, feeding and caring for the pets they teach our children lots of important skills such as empathy, responsibilities and values in caring for others.
Peace of Mind

Our property is completely fenced off and CCTV cameras are in operation at all entrances and exits. All external doors are installed with an entry control system. Members of the public may gain access to the property only by entering one of our monitored doors, and a member of staff has to identify them prior to allowing them entry.
Transitions
Report
We appreciate at Woodlands what a daunting prospect it is for any parent and child to begin a new setting. For some of our children it is their first experience of a nursery or Pre-School and so we have important procedures that are put in place to help manage the transition. Our staff are very experienced and knowledgeable in helping children and parents settle and feel confident and safe in our care.
