As a professional chimney sweep I work for a range of households, industries, and sections. I understand that Hotels and Public Houses like to have Tradesmen well out of the way before the public make an entrance. I endeavour to book a time that is convenient to you and your customers and will, if necessary, visit early morning to fit in with your opening hours.

You feel nauseous when fire is on with gas fires this may indicate carbon monoxide is present - potentially fatal! Turn off appliance and call us. You may very well be able to rectify the issue easily and safely but some issues will require our assistance. We have compiled a list of problems a chimney can develop with information on when you should get us involved in restoring your chimney to a healthy and safe state.

You will have been given a time for our visit but as you will appreciate, if an unforeseen problem is encountered at a previous job then there may well be some delay. It doesn't happen very often but we ask you to be patient. Traffic, roadworks and unforeseen blockages encountered when sweeping all play havoc with even the best time keepers.

We thought you might find it useful to know what problems you can run into with a chimney and how you solve them. These are the recommended minimum intervals between cleaning and should be treated as such.

Fireplaces are lovely things but do require some understanding of how they work in order to use them safely and efficiently and get the best out of them. From the humble to the grand, they all work on the same principle. You light a fire in the basket or grate and as the air above and around the fire is hotter it has less density than the air in the room.
