Grace and I are the owners and directors of CELT - Centre for English Language and have been running the language school since 1989. We are both qualified EFL teachers and have many years' experience teaching English abroad and in the UK. Originally from San Francisco, USA, Grace is our Director and started her teaching career in Italy.

At CELT, people are important. Our well-qualified and professional EFL teachers will personalise your learning experience using a flexible teaching approach and up-to-date materials. Our caring and friendly team are here to support you during your stay. Greg taught in Spain, France, and La Runion before returning to Wales to teach English at Cardiff University.

Our Adult Centre and administration offices are based in two adjacent Victorian properties built in 1882 which have been carefully restored and adapted to run our school. We are ideally situated within the main student area of the city and are only a short walk from Cardiff University, the main shopping area, and many local attractions including Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium, and the National Museum of Wales.

At CELT, we understand English learners come from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds and continually assess the individual needs of our students.

We put a special emphasis on improving the student's ability to communicate effectively through the use of pair and group work, role-play, guided class discussions, situational dialogues, etc. Homework is given regularly on all courses to help students revise and consolidate what is learnt during the lessons.Lessons are based on a mix of the latest textbooks and a wide range of supplementary resources chosen by our teaching team.

Studying abroad is an exciting thing to do but CELT also understands that it can make some students nervous as they don't know what to expect when studying and living in a different country.
