Torquay based private hospital owned by Ramsay Healthcare, I visited for a consultation via my health insurance.
Parking is a well known struggle with very limited spaces on site, so get there early for your appointment. 2 hour free parking is available down the road outside about a 2min walk away.
There is a three step procedure to enter, sanitise hands, change your mask and have your temperature taken.
Friendly staff await you at reception, water and tea & coffee available in the waiting rooms and toilets are available.
A mobile scanning unit was available on site at the time of my visit

I'm writing this at four minutes past twelve following my operation to have a new hip fitted. Treatment up until about four yesterday afternoon brilliant!!!
After four not quite so glowing but there is one thing that is really cheesing me off!!!!
They attach to the end of your bed a machine that massages your lower legs to stop clots and it's great but.... every thirty seconds it makes a noise at the same level as my doorbell!!! I tried shoving tissues in my ears,.asked for ear plugs anything to allow me to sleep!!! Mount Stuart you really need to sort this out!!!

Trying to book appointment phoned and left messages. No reply three weeks and after a complaint by text three people phone up and promised they will get the consultant to phone for appointment and again nothing. Going back to my doctors to get a referral to a hospital that can be bothered about care.

Pay £150 to find out how much treatment will cost. This is health and welfare, not a holiday timeshare apartment scheme. This profiteering and repulsive hospital should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of transparency and their attempt to “let those who aren’t sat on a mountain of cash suffer”. No one should have to pay for a quote for treatment.

The treatment i received was shocking! Told i would be looked after and all treatment would be arranged by the Doctor at mount Stuart. I didn't hear nothing back until this date 6 months later still nothing other than a Bill! After trying to chase the Doctor down for months, i was told he was Busy by his secretary which she is very rude and has an attitude. I became very ill and was left in the lurk, i was then rushed into Torbay Hospital. Needing Blood work done a few times a week, endoscopy, throat specialist, followed by CT scans which i waited months for with not good results! Because Mount

Went in for laparoscopic chelosectomy, probably wrong spelling. Was supposed to be a day case but had to stay two extra nights due to snow on Dartmoor where we live. All the nurses were very kind and attentive, rooms clean and tidy food was excellent too. The most important thing is do you feel safe and secure, definitely. Great service. Thank you.

I had an abdominal hysterectomy on 3/8/19. The care I have received from the whole team was absolutely spot on. Such an attentive, friendly knowledgeable group who reassured me and made an experience that I wasn’t looking forward to at all a lot easier. Post op I can’t believe how well I feel. Wish I’d had the op sooner. Thank you all so much for your care and support

I'm currently in Mount Stuart, just had partial knee replacement, going home this evening after three days stay, the hospital is spotless, well run and very nicely maintained, the care is brilliant, the food very good and the nursing staff aren't to bad either, just kidding they are blinking brilliant 👍😊😂

My first stay at Mount Stuart Hospital began with a nerve wracking attendance for surgery. Mr Barrington and his team were absolutely amazing. I want to thank them all for being so kind, gentle and understanding as well, of course for their total professionalism. In the course of my recovery I was cared for by a fabulous Nurse called Claudia Van Der Glok. Her compassion and thoughtfulness very definitely helped me to cope with everything. I can't thank you enough Claudia.... or thank you all, for making an unpleasant episode in my life more bearable.

I first stayed at Mount Stewart in 2013 for a hip replacements. My treatment and impression of the hospital was such that when I knew I needed the other hip replaced in 2014 I didn't hesitate to book an appointment with the same consultant there.
The hospital is more like a hotel with pleasant, comfortable reception - no plastic chairs here! All the corridors were spotlessly clean - more so than some big name hotels I have stayed at.
