Whether you're going to CD, vinyl, or streaming, we'll ensure your audio is perfect for all formats. Post Electric Studio is a recording studio in Edinburgh operated by producers Rod Jones (Idlewild) and Kris Pohl.
It also acts as a creative home to the band Idlewild. The purpose build studio is situated in Leith, in the centre of a lively and creative neighbourhood with a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars on the doorstep. It features a great selection of vintage outboard gear, centered around a modern SSL Duality desk which is set up to either track to a 24-track Studer tape machine or a Pro Tools rig, offering the best of both worlds.

Studio B is Post Electric's hidden gem. This high-spec, Munro designed mix room is available to rent for a variety of smaller projects. It's perfect for production, post production or just mixing your record in one of Edinburgh's finest mix rooms. The setup allows you to plug your own laptop straight into our Antelope Orion 32 converters.
Voice Over

Voice-over can be recorded directly without the need to sync to picture; this can be anything from narration to guided meditation. All projects can be tackled regardless of scale; if required, studio A and our main live room can be utilised for larger projects. Files can be delivered in any format required.
Voice To Picture

Post Electric Studio is fully set up to record and sync dialogue to picture with zero latency. Our vocal booth is fully fitted with an HD display that can be monitored and controlled via the control room. Sync points (a count in to cue the artist in the vocal booth) can be made on the fly and takes can be edited to ensure that audio is locked picture.

Source Connect is often touted as an ISDN alternative, and can be used to remotely monitor and send audio between locations. This allows for another studio from anywhere in the world to monitor or take control of the recording session and to directly communicate with the artist in the booth, ensuring that the takes that are captured are perfect.
