Business Details
We have been welcoming visitors to our Lake District hill farm for many years, drawing on the heritage of our 17th-century farmhouse. We run the farm, with Edward Ireton overseeing the livestock and Judith looking after our guests' comfort. We specialise in providing a superior Bed and Breakfast experience that blends historic charm with modern comforts. We also offer a self-catering caravan with panoramic views of the surrounding fells. We cater to equestrian guests by providing stables, hay and easy access to bridleways for horse riding. We manage a working sheep farm, which ensures a genuine rural atmosphere while upholding high hospitality standards.
We solve the common dilemma of seeking tranquillity without sacrificing convenience by being just ten minutes' drive from Ambleside. We benefit from our prime location near the Langdale valley, a renowned area for walking, climbing and mountain biking. We uphold professional standards by preserving the original architectural features of our farmhouse during any refurbishment. Our commitment to client satisfaction is reflected in the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the personal attention we give to every visitor. We strive to make each stay memorable by offering peaceful lawns, a wildlife-rich pond and friendly farm dogs that greet guests politely.

Great B&B on a working farm. Tranquil setting, with a warm welcome and hearty breakfast from Judith. Try the Drunken Duck pub up the road for a good dinner.
