My name is Alex Petty and I've been a Homeopath, Reflexologist and Reiki Practitioner for many years. In the mid 1990's an interest in complementary therapy led me to train in Reflexology. Some years later my own health issues, in the form of persistent tonsillitis, led to my first experience of homeopathy; the result was so miraculous that I later decided to become a homeopath myself.
Since then I have continued to seek, learn about, and experience the innate self-healing ability we have through giving and receiving holistic and homeopathic therapy. More recently my long standing interest in therapeutic bodywork led me to add massage in the form of Soft Tissue Therapy to the practice and I'm currently training in McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release.

About Holistic Therapy
Report
A fundamental principle of Homeopathy, Reiki, Reflexology and of all the healing arts is that there is no such thing as a disease purely of the mind or of the body. Mind and body is one person. Influence one and you influence the other. Stress one and you stress the other. To effectively treat a symptom belonging to a single part, we must consider the whole to which the part belongs.

This natural physical therapy combines a series of pressures & massage techniques to the feet and sometimes to the hands to stimulate the nerve endings that travel to the spinal cord, then to other parts of the body. Stimulating these nerve endings is said to improve circulation, stimulate vital organs and encourage the body's natural healing process whilst at the same time promoting deep relaxation.
Reiki
Report
Reiki was founded by Dr Mikao Usui (1865-1926), a Tendai Buddhist Monk, Samurai Swordsman and Kiko (Japanese Qigong) master and was originally part of a very personal self-healing practice that was taught by Dr Usui to his disciples. The practice was based on 'knowing one's true purpose' through mindfulness, meditation and living by the five Reiki precepts shown above.

Drawing on eastern and western philosophies these sessions are for two-way holistic health discussion in a way that compliments any overall treatment or goals you may have. If you are experiencing symptoms in your mind or body it's a good idea to look at root cause. You can choose to book them as 60 minute standalone sessions, or add 30 minutes to your physical therapy sessions.
