About Us

Cheston Farm Equestrian Centre is home to husband and wife team, Sophie and Andrew Osborne. Since then, the Centre has seen huge investment and undergone a major transformation. The arenas, stables, house, clubhouse cafe and fields have all been overhauled, replaced or built from scratch. We are always re-investing to develop the Centre and are proud of our achievements and the reputation we have established.
Our Horses

Currently, Cheston has a team of approx 25 horses in the Centre. Our horses are a versatile bunch able to accommodate almost all riders. We have a few advanced horses for exam training and advanced tuition. All our horses are carefully selected and assessed for safety and suitability and we frequently have new horses and ponies and some for sale that we know and trust.
Our Ponies
Report
We generally prefer bigger ponies (13hh plus) who can be ridden by a range of ages and abilities so they enjoy a better life with more variety. Some of our ponies go out competing and to the beach as well as taking part in gymkhana games and our own competitions. We have 12 ponies for children and small adults too.

If you're looking for 16+ educationally linked work experience, a career or college preparation, you can get a taster of the equestrian industry working and learning in a real and varied commercial yard under the supervision of yard proprietor and head instructor: Sophie Osborne and her excellent team of staff.
Riding Options

Virtually every day in July and August we have something fun to offer to all levels from beginner to more advanced riders wanting to gallop and jump. Our super team of 25 horses and ponies vary in size from 13hh to 17hh and can help you enjoy riding whether a beginner or advanced rider.
The Cheston equine team can help you master the rising trot, have a first canter, gallop across Dartmoor, jump fences or perform dressage moves such as half pass and flying changes!What a team! With a range of super instructors and their excellent tuition, you can reach all your riding goals and ambitions.
