Injection moulding is the process of injecting molten thermoplastic polymer into a cavity, in a hardened steel mould tool, which opens on a split line (following rapid cooling) to reveal a plastic moulding. Typically used to produce plastic mouldings with low unit costs and tolerances which cannot be achieved by other moulding processes.
Two shot injection moulding is the ability to produce complex mouldings from two different polymers at the same time during one machine cycle, creating mouldings with more than one colour or material. Taking advantage of these elements allows designers to create complicated mouldings very easily, with a high level of accuracy.

Injection moulding
Report
Many of the mould tools we run in our moulding machines have complex cores which operate in a plane 90 degrees to the tool opening plane. Injection moulding is the process of injecting molten thermoplastic polymer into a cavity in a hardened steel mould tool which opens on a split line (following rapid cooling) to reveal a plastic moulding.
