At Long Buckby Preschool we provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment for your child. In this environment your child will be encouraged and motivated to learn and develop linguistically, intellectually, physically and socially from play-based activities, whilst working towards the early learning goals.
Through interaction and play with our dedicated key workers and other children, your child will develop a wealth of early learning and social skills. We encourage children to think for themselves and develop skills which will allow for a smooth and confident transition to primary school. And when the time comes we will be there to support your child as the move on to reception.

The Preschool Journey
Report
It is a well known fact that children need to feel safe and secure within a setting to get the most out of their time there. At Long Buckby Preschool we structure our day around a routine that offers a familiar structure during each of our sessions. For much of the session we offer "Free Flow" play where the children can select the activities they wish to use and they are able to access the outdoor classroom at any time.
Progress & Development
Report
Staff continually observe the children whilst they are at Preschool. This is to ensure that each child is progressing and to aid the staff in their planning, to enable activities to be pitched at the appropriate level to maximise the learning for the children. Observations will be taken by all staff members and are entered on to the child's Tapestry online learning journal.
Committee
Report
Long Buckby Preschool is a registered charity and is jointly run by the Preschool staff and a committee of parents. The Committee work alongside our fantastic Preschool team and our Manager, who manages the day to day aspects of Preschool, such as the staff, implementation of the curriculum and the children's development and welfare.
Sessions & Fees
Report
We are currently in the process of reviewing our session and key group structure within Preschool. As part of this review we are looking to open all sessions up to children of all ages. In the past Wednesday has been a dedicated session for the Wise Owls (children starting school in the following academic year, in this case 2021).
