We are a family owned business with self drive narrowboats for weekends and short breaks, and week long holidays from both bases, and also have boats available for longer hire periods.
This is not camping on water, the boats come equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday afloat, fully equipped galley (including fridge and 4 hob gas cooker), a bathroom with a flushing toilet, and a shower, plenty of hot water, central heating and a TV for the days you need to catch up with the real world!Don't forget with narrowboat hire the boat is the holiday, you don't need to allow for those expensive days out during the week!

Our prices are inclusive, which means that when you make the booking you will not find additional charges for:. If you are comparing prices with other narrowboat hire companies you will have to check carefully whether fuel is included, and whether other items will be added to your final bill.
The only additional costs with us are if you are bringing a pet (25), and when you arrive at our base we will suggest that a guide book might be useful (8.95 - 14.99).Apart from that all our charges are in the price that you see on the price list, a simple concept, but one that other companies are not always employing.

Our experienced staff can advise on boats and routes, and provide answers to those questions that often worry those new to the delights of narrowboating. We can also hold a boat for 7 days for you, please either ring or email with your requirements.
General information about canal boat hire

Our canal boats are hired complete with all the equipment and a full inventory of domestic items is on board, it includes washing up liquid, scouring pads, dishcloths, tea towels, spray cleaner and toilet rolls. Bedding is provided by way of pillows, duvets and sheets. When you take over your boat it will have been refuelled, the water tank filled and new gas bottles connected.
