ACES started in the 1980s in the then thriving Arnold Town Centre Market. As our business grew we needed a proper shop and we found our first premises on the Arnold High Street (opposite Sainsbury's for those of us who can remember it being there!). Our first shop was a popular and bustling place, often referred to as "Arkwright's Shop" from Open All Hours (now that really does age us).
We were always busy as were our shelves, packed from floor to ceiling with spare parts and accessories. After two decades working from Arnold High Street, trends were changing and the kitchen was becoming the centre point of British homes. Layouts and appliances were becoming stylish and sleek. This is where we envisaged a proper showroom for our customers to come and see.
