Paul joined the family business in 2005, following a short career in Education. He worked his way through various roles in the company before taking over from his father, Bernie Johnson, in 2016. He looks after much of the day-to-day activities in the office as well as company strategy and innovation.

Johnson Partners specialise in abnormal loads and out-of-gauge cargo and we are highly experienced in moving cargo that is too awkward for most carriers. This knowledge helps us to pre-empt many potential issues that often arise without adequate planning, which is essential for Project Cargo. We can advise on what vehicles are required, as well as loading/off-loading requirements.

The case study involves a complex project forwarding assignment spanning over three continents and involving the assembly and shipping of two huge generators to China. Johnson Partners was awarded a project forwarding contract, for the shipping of two 60 tonne generators to Shanghai, China. The generators were assembled in Cannock, West Midlands with engines manufactured in the United States and specialist container shells transported from Italy.
