Services

Chimney Sweeping

Our chimney sweeping service removes soot and blockages using rotary power sweeping and traditional brushing methods. We provide comprehensive cleaning for open fires, wood burners, and AGA/Rayburn systems. Each job includes debris containment and insurance certification, ensuring safety and compliance for both residential and commercial properties.

CCTV Inspection

Using infra-red CCTV technology, we conduct detailed flue inspections to identify structural damage and blockages. This non-invasive method allows precise diagnosis of chimney issues without dismantling structures. Reports include visual evidence to support recommended maintenance actions for both modern and heritage properties.

Bird Nest Removal

We safely remove bird nests and debris from chimneys using specialist tools and techniques. Our service complies with wildlife protection laws, focusing on post-fledging clearance. The process includes flue sanitisation and damage assessment to prevent future nesting while maintaining ventilation efficiency.

Stove Maintenance

We provide comprehensive maintenance for wood burners and solid fuel appliances. Services include component replacement (door ropes, fire bricks) and efficiency optimisation. Our technicians can source specialist parts and perform safety checks to ensure optimal performance of heating systems.

Heritage Chimney Restoration

Specialist restoration of disused or historic chimneys using period-appropriate techniques. This includes soot hatch installation, flue relining, and integration with modern heating systems. We maintain original architectural features while ensuring contemporary safety standards are met for listed buildings and heritage properties.

Questions

Why is regular chimney sweeping important?

Regular sweeping removes dangerous soot build-up, prevents chimney fires, and ensures proper ventilation of toxic gases. It also improves heating efficiency, reducing fuel costs for homeowners.

How often should chimneys be cleaned?

Frequency depends on fuel type: smokeless coal requires annual cleaning, wood burning needs twice-yearly maintenance, while bituminous coal, oil, and gas systems require bi-annual servicing.

What qualifications do you hold?

I hold an NVQ Level 2 in Domestic and Commercial Chimney Sweeping and Institute of Chimney Sweeps certification. My CSCS card confirms site safety compliance for commercial work.

Do you provide insurance certificates?

Yes, every completed job receives an insurance-recognised certificate confirming proper cleaning and safety checks, accepted by all major UK insurance providers.

Can you handle commercial properties?

Yes, I service pubs, hotels, holiday cottages, and other commercial premises. My equipment and qualifications allow maintenance of both modern and traditional commercial chimney systems.

What areas do you cover?

Primarily North Somerset including Clevedon, Weston-super-Mare, and surrounding villages. I also service Clifton, Southville, and other Bristol areas with additional charges for distant locations.

I had Jamie over today to sweep a chimney unused for over 20 years. He was knowledgeable, considerate, on time and left the grate and surrounding area spotless despite a considerable amount of soot. Would highly recommend his services!
