Business Details
At St Thomas More Catholic Primary School we provide a welcoming and safe learning environment, one in which the talents of all children and staff are recognised and developed to the full. The children enjoy the learning process and are guided by caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated staff. Our aim is to give each child the opportunity to achieve the highest possible standards.
We encourage a positive attitude across the school and an environment where each child can strive to achieve their personal best. We are an Outstanding Catholic School. It is official.

Mission Statement
Our principal role as a Catholic school is to participate in the mission of the Catholic Church by providing a framework which will help children to grow in their understanding of God, The Gospel and in the practice of their faith. The school will help the children to develop fully as human beings and prepare them to undertake their responsibilities as Catholics in society.
Admissions
This statement has been shared widely with parishes by the Education Commission in order to ensure that determinations made by parish priests concerning regular practice of the faith are being made on a consistent basis. This will remain the case until the Sunday obligation is reintroduced by the Bishops.
Secondary Admissions 2021
In helping to decide which schools to choose, we would normally strongly suggest that families visit schools that you are considering or attend an open day. Many schools are now able to hold Open Days as well as offering a recorded video or virtual tour. Please check the websites of the schools that you are considering.
Curriculum
At St Thomas More we seek to live out the values of Jesus Christ and to promote these by our words and actions, following our Mission Statement to "share the light of Jesus, by learning together and loving others." We follow the approved scheme of work - The Way, the Truth and the Life; beyond this we offer a Catholic curriculum which is broad and balanced and promotes the belief that every one of us is unique and is created in the image of God.
Pupil Premium
Pupil premium funding is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It is designed to help raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities, and close the gap between them and their peers. We use our Pupil Premium funding in a number of ways to ensure that our vulnerable pupils receive the best support possible to assist them in achieving their potential.
School Governors
Members of the Governing body are volunteers. Each term governors attend a meeting of the full governing body in addition to some sub- committees. We have five key Governor Sub-Committees. Premises sub-committee focuses on all matters relating to the site, the building and health and safety. Curriculum sub-committee concentrates on all matters relating to the curriculum, including tracking, progress, predications and School Self-Evaluation.
