I chose Nailcote Hotel as a surprise spa getaway for my partner's 30th Birthday, I had hoped for a gorgeous relaxing spa weekend and the pictures on their website made me believe this was what I was getting. I booked a four poster room and this we didn't get. We did get a large suit, however it was dated and very dirty. The bathroom was very dirty and the jacuzzi bath jets were filthy, there was hair in the plug hole and mould in the silicone. I initially chose Nailcote due to its spa facilities and it's gym but the pictures online are not true to its reality. The women's changing rooms smelt

Like a curates egg, telephone & reception good ,housekeeping poor, missing essentials. Bar staff very helpful, limited beer selection, indifferent wine list, dining room staff helpful and attentive tasty menu, excellent baked cheesecake. Served breakfast good, buffet breakfast a shambles. Great pool.

Lovely hotel old with classic rustic decor. The staff were polite and hygiene standards as you would expect them to be in such COVID conditions. Our visit was due to a wedding the markee was amazing with heating and ample space to party, alcohol costs a bit steep but I guess they have to make a profit. Food was lovely in all no complaints.
