Established in 2003, Solihull Music School has grown from humble beginnings into a leading institution for music education. Our journey began when Kate, a talented musician, started teaching keyboard lessons from her family home, sparking overwhelming local interest. Recognising this demand, Jane and Philip retired early to create a dedicated school, initially offering keyboard tuition before expanding to include guitar, drums, and vocal training. Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the Yamaha method, which prioritises learning through listening, imitation, and readinga natural progression mirroring language acquisition. Over the years, we've earned endorsement from Yamaha Music Schools (Europe), allowing us to provide specialised training and masterclasses for our instructors. In 2006, we relocated to The Barn Studios, a serene setting with five spacious studios accommodating numerous students weekly.The 2020 pandemic prompted innovation, leading to the development of our online portal by IT expert Brendan, ensuring uninterrupted learning through recorded lessons. Today, we continue offering both in-person and digital access to our curriculum, ensuring no student misses vital learning opportunities. Our team of certified instructors, all DBS-checked, delivers structured, graded lessons across 44 weeks annually, supported by state-of-the-art facilities and a family-friendly environment. We pride ourselves on fostering musical growth through merit-based rewards, on-site examinations, and flexible scheduling options. With eight weeks of annual holidays plus bank holidays, our calendar balances structured learning with family needs. Whether you're a beginner or advancing musician, our school provides an enriching environment to achieve your musical aspirations.

We teach all ages from our Mini Maestros programme for young children through to adult learners. Group lessons are structured by both age and ability level.

They are absolutely rubbish, please don't take your children there . you will be wasting your money like me! my child was going for 5 years and he did the preliminary exam and still can't play a proper song. he could have been on grade 5 by now. very disappointed! :((

I only remembered about this place fairly recently, I was a student probably about 7 years ago - and I was taught be Jodie on Keyboard. Back then I remember always looking forward to my lessons, and seemed to learn something new each day I went.
Unfortunatly, I decided to pack it in. Which was a bad decision now I look back at it. Jodie is a credit to the school, and if everything is up to the same standards, as it was back then... I would'nt reccomend anywhere else.

Possibly one of the best music schools in the West Midlands. The service is amazing, tutors are inspiring and they help in any way they can. Highly recommend, you or your children will fall in love with music performance.
