Swimming Without Stress
Let go and enjoy the support of water instead of struggling against it, on our intensive (but sensitive) one to one course in beautiful West Wales. Through hands on guidance using the Alexander Technique Ian and Cheryl will teach you to be happy underwater, to trust the water to support you and to get your feet back on the ground without panicking.

Floating freely and gliding with a relaxed neck are cornerstones of swimming without stress. Freedom of movement follows. What a great post, full of understanding. My previous attempts at learning to swim have been with instructors at the side of the pool, yelling instructions above the acoustic echo and carrying a pole for strugglers to attempt to cling to.

Our Approach
Report
We'll help you improve your relationship with the water by showing you how to let it support you. You'll have the pool to yourself and we'll be in the water with you, using our hands to guide and direct you through movements. Our lessons are 1:1 because we recognise that, while there are universal problems and difficulties for humans in water, we all have different degrees of fear, different levels of coordination, and our own learning pace.
About us
Report
Ian and Cheryl will help you improve your relationship with the water by seeing it as a source of support, not an obstacle to overcome. We'll work with you in the water, helping you to release unnecessary tension, guiding you through new movements, encouraging you to swim without stress by doing less.
Lessons
Report
Most people learning to swim, and too many swimmers, see the water as an obstacle to overcome. A lot of teaching approaches either reinforce this kind of thinking or don't do enough to help change it. The water is a wonderful source of support. The less we do in it/ to it, the more it helps us. This is quite simple but not always easy to see.
Alexander Technique
Report
The water's a great place to reduce unnecessary tension, to release and expand, to let go. The Alexander Technique is very useful for people with any kind of difficulty in the water. Swimming problems almost always go back to balance and breathing. We help you become more at home in water by focusing on what's going on with the coordination of your head, neck and back.
