Founded in 1885 by Reuben Rackham, we continue to operate as a Family run business and our Shop at the Mill maintains the same excellent reputation that it did five generations ago. A Family Run Business founded by Reuben Rackham in 1885 as Flour Millers, operating both Water and Steam driven Mills at the Deben Mills site. We have continued to expand and diversify over the years.
Flour Milling production finally ceased at Deben Mills in 1970 following the death of Mr Edward Rackham (one of Reuben's sons) who had carried on producing stone-ground Wholemeal Flour in the Water powered Mill long after the later Steam powered Roller Mill had ceased operation, the production of Animal Feed for Farm use was expanded.

We are an approved Coal Merchant supplying quality fuels for Multi-Fuel Stoves, Gravity Fed Boilers and Cookers. We sell either loose, delivered in 20kg bags or in pre-packed 20kg bags. All smokeless fuels can be collected from Deben Mills in 20kg sealed bags. We are an approved Coal Merchant supplying quality fuels for Open Fires.
