Why Apex
Report
Since 1992, we've been dedicated to perfecting the art of delivering safe and reliable driving lessons to anybody willing to learn. We understand that learning to drive isn't cheap, and many driving schools like to take advantage of this and charge you an even larger sum than what is necessary. However, this is not the way that we work.
Show Me / Tell Me
Report
Tell me where you'd find the information for the recommended tyre pressures for this car and how tyre pressures should be checked. Manufacturer's guide, use a reliable pressure gauge, check and adjust pressures when tyres are cold, don't forget spare tyre, remember to refit valve caps. Tell me how you make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of a crash.
FAQ’s
Report
International driving licence holders need to check with the DVSA (driving licence authority) for current regulations. You can drive with anybody over the age of 21 so long as they hold a full drivers licence for the type of vehicle you want to learn in for at least 3 years. Driving alone or with anybody else, whilst holding a provisional driving licence, may cause you, and anybody accompanying you, to face criminal proceedings.
Theory Tests
Report
Once you have been registered at reception you'll go through to the test room. You may not take anything into the room with you; all personal items must be stored in the lockers provided. Once you're in the test room you may not talk to or distract other candidates. The computer screen will display your name and the category of test you're taking.
Practical Test
Report
Before you do any driving you'll be asked to perform an eyesight check and then be asked some vehicle safety questions. You'll then be tested on your general driving ability, including one reversing exercise. The 'Driving' part of your test will last about 40 minutes. Throughout the test your examiner will be looking for evidence you've reached an overall safe standard of driving, as you carry out both general and specific manoeuvres.
