It all started back in 1980 when, on leaving school, David became a trainee jewellery sales assistant in Whitechapel, Liverpool. There, with the knowledge and advice gained from his manager, David's passion for jewellery grew and 40 years later, that passion remains. This trainee start led to an apprenticeship as a goldsmith and there followed experience in fine jewellery stores including Mappin & Webb and Herbert Wolf.
David's ambition was always to be independent and, with the aid of a Prince's Trust grant, David built a workbench and started work on trade jewellery repairs in his spare bedroom and garage. As business grew, he rented a room above a jewellery shop and worked there until 1996. In December the same year, David Moss Jeweller opened in the historic market town of Ormskirk and has remained there ever since.

We offer a personal bespoke service to design a unique piece of jewellery. From an initial pencil drawing, using traditional skills combined with modern computer aided design, we will work with you from the initial concept right through to the creation of the final piece to allow you to create something that is personal and totally original to you.

Bring along your unwanted gold, platinum and silver items of jewellery and turn them into cash. Simply call in with your items and we will assess them for purity and weight then give you a price calculated against daily precious metal prices. An offer will be given immediately and we can pay you cash or via BACS.
Cleaning Solutions

Over time your jewellery may appear dull and lacking its usual sparkle, Simply bring your items to David Moss Jeweller and for a small fee we will clean them professionally, including pre-clean, hand & machine polishing followed by a final ultrasonic clean to renew their original sparkle, we also check the condition and advise if any remedial work is required.
Watch Battery Replacement

Watch batteries in most cases can usually be replaced in-store within 15-30 minutes. We only use high quality batteries for lasting efficiency and recommend changing battery every 2 years to prevent any possible corrosion to the movement. Some watches may require a re-seal and pressure testing to guarantee their water resistance properties, this is carried out by our watchmaker and usually takes 10-14 days.
