We are proud to say that several members of staff have worked at the surgery for over twenty years! All our vets and nurses are fully qualified and registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons & Royal College of Veterinary Nurses. As such they comply with the stringent requirements for continued professional education so they are kept up to date with all the current advances in veterinary medicine and surgery.

Gilmore offers a complete healthcare service for your pets and with diagnostic equipment on site, we can offer prompt and efficient care to get your pet back feeling like themselves again. See our services below. We also offer at the surgery, hospitalisation if required for our patients, either in spacious indoor heated dog kennels or in our separate indoor cat ward.

We offer fantastic facilities for your feline friends which will ensure that they have a relaxing break while you are away. All cats looked after by qualified veterinary staff - so any cats requiring medication or have additional needs can be catered for.

Please ensure your cat is up to date with their vaccines prior to boarding with us if you are unsure on your cats vaccine status please ring our reception team on 01257 426110 to discuss vaccination options.
Out of Hours

If your pet has an emergency during our normal opening hours, please call the practice and we will advise you what to do next. If you have an emergency when we are closed, please contact our partners Vets Now on 0161 222 6101. Vets Now is the pet equivalent of an accident and emergency service, dedicated to providing pets with access to a vet out of hours.
K-Laser

LaserPet Limited offers Low Level Laser Therapy to animal patients using the K-Laser, and is now delighted to be able to offer this service to the patients of Gilmore Veterinary Surgery in Standish, Wigan. Low Level Laser Therapy stimulates the body's own healing mechanism to reduce pain, inflammation, to accelerate healing and improve the quality of healing.

This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
