Introduced in 1990 Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) was bought in to help reduce the amount of motorcycle and scooter accidents among inexperienced riders and those new to riding on the roads. There are five main elements (A-E) to CBT. Each must be completed satisfactorily before a CBT Certificate (DL196) can be issued.

In order to take a DAS, A1 or A2 courses you must hold a Provisional or Full Driving Licence and a valid CBT certificate before you can undertake practical instruction. Before taking the practical test you must also however have passed your theory test. If you are aged 17 or over, you can take your theory test and then both parts of the practical motorcycle test using a 125cc motorcycle or scooter of 14.68BHP (11KW) of power.

Well congratulations, so you've passed your practical test, and are now maybe about to go out and buy your first big boys (or girls!) powerful bike! We can make that transition easier and smoother, raising your confidence and competency levels on your new bike. We will give you any advice you need and go through any problems you may have with it.

At the Right Way Motorcycle Training we have a range of bikes to suit your style of riding. All bikes are insured and maintained to a very high standard to ensure your safety, helmets and gloves are available for you to use but you are welcome to bring your own (If you bring your own helmet, IT MUST be road legal).
Advanced Training

The Right Way Motorcyle training are able to now offer you Advanced Motorcycle Training through the DSA Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS). We can improve the way you ride so that you are safer, smoother and more systematic. Once you have reached the specified standard, you will be issued with the Enhanced Rider Scheme Certificate, which can qualify you for a discount (up to 15%) from many leading motorcycle insurers.
