What types of vehicles can I hire?
We offer cars, vans, and minibuses with over 400 vehicles available. Our fleet includes economy models, executive cars, commercial vans, and minibuses seating up to 17 passengers.
Can I hire a vehicle for a business?
Yes, we provide corporate account facilities for businesses needing regular vehicle hire. This includes streamlined booking processes and account management for multiple reservations.
What are the driver age requirements?
Drivers must be aged 21-75. Those under 23 or over 70 pay a young/overage driver surcharge. Minibus drivers require category D1 license and must be over 25.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards. Cash payments are accepted but require card payment for excess deposits. Third-party card payments require prior arrangement.
Can I return the vehicle outside operating hours?
Vehicles must be returned during opening hours (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm). Late returns incur a £25 no-show fee and may result in vehicle reclamation.
Do you offer insurance options?
All rentals include standard insurance with a £1,000 excess. Excess waiver options are available to reduce your liability for damage or loss during the hire period.

Needed a vehicle in a hurry, and the staff were excellent in sorting it out. I drove a car away within 45 minutes of first contact. Easy process tor hire and handback. Vehicle was spotless. Great value for money based on the idiot competition on Stafford Park. Highly recommended.

The staff here were helpful and friendly and professional. The van I hired was new and clean both inside and out with all the tech you could want for a long journey. The cost was reasonable compared with other companies with the area. I was given the opportunity to come and measure the vans in advance of making a decision. I definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a stress free service. Other companies require more notice or charge you considerbly more for providing short notice. I was able to sort my hire out in less than 24 hours.

The guys at SSH were very helpful and friendly. I had a lovely car and it was by far the best value for money. I ended up having the car way longer than initially planned and the staff just kept extending it as needed... even though this must have meant a deal of paperwork for them.

I used SSH for several hires in the last few months due to my car being out of action. Professional service, friendly staff and very decent pricing. Collection and dropping off of the cars was very quick and efficient, and the cars themselves were always great. Highly recommended!

Very good prices compared with some competitors, despite low prices vans are new and clean. Made a booking Friday and had a van ready for collection on Saturday morning. Alot of competitors need a weeks notice ton get a van on a weekend, and they cost more to hire.

I prepaid online for a SWB and when I arrived at 4pm to pick it up, the van I requested was unavailable. They offered me a LWB which was not appropriate for what I needed it for. No courtesy phone call was made to inform me prior to the pick up. The branch manager just blamed the previous customer and said we have no control over what our customers do. In desperation to get a van that evening I called Hertz who told me to call another number who sent me to another part of the business who then gave me another number and still no joy in providing me with anything.
