For more than 50 years, members of the Parkes family have been building and repairing roofs in the Doncaster area. Starting from humble beginnings, we have grown and grown, developing a reputation for both quality and value, and the business has now seen three generations of our family join. We are not aware of any other local roofing company that has been trading longer than us - a fact of which we are enormously proud.
We have worked on many historic and high-profile buildings in and around Doncaster; too numerous to list them all individually they include 12 churches, many of Doncaster's schools including Doncaster Deaf College, Doncaster Racecourse, Doncaster Airport, Rossington Hall, Northern Racing College and many more.

Tile Roofs
Report
Tiles are the most common roofing material in this country and come in two main types - clay roofing tiles and concrete roofing tiles. When compared to other roofing options, both clay and concrete tiles generally share the same advantages and disadvantages, with some slight differences.
Tiles come in a wide variety of colours and styles, from traditional to ultra-modern, and you will have no difficulty in selecting a suitable tile to compliment your building.Tiles are both strong and durable - clay tiles can last over 100 years and concrete tiles will be good for up to 50 years. Tiles are not indestructible though and should be handled with care and will break if they fall from the roof.

Slate Roofs
Report
Slate has been used as a roofing material for centuries, and is commonly found on older building around the Doncaster area. Slate is available in a range of colours, but as it is a totally natural material, no two tiles are identical which adds to its charm. A slate roof is not the cheapest option but certainly has a timeless quality.
Metal Sheet Roofs
Report
Traditional associated with industrial buildings, sheet metal roofs are made from metal panels which can either be flat or profiled. The metals used tend to be either steel or aluminium. Steel is heavier but is sturdier and can be coated with a range of finishes, to protect from corrosion and add colour.
Flat Roofs
Report
Flat roofs used to have a bad reputation, but with the introduction of modern high-performance building materials, flat roofs are gaining in popularity. This popularity is helped by the affordability of flat roofs; a flat roof will help to keep the cost of a planned extension down for instance. A flat roof can also provide addition useable outdoor space such as a sun-deck or roof garden.
