Rider Training
Report
Our Rider Training department can offer you the training you need, whether you are starting at the very beginning with a taster session, or coming back to biking after a wee break and need some guidance. At Saltire, we tailor motorcycle training to suit individual needs, and look to develop and expand each student's skills to make them safer riders.
CBT Taster Sessions
Report
Ever fancied the thought of riding a scooter or motorcycle, but not sure if it's for you?. Then come along to a Taster session and take advantage of our indoor training yard, where you will have fun and learn the basics on one of our Yamaha 125cc motorcycles or 50cc automatic scooter, regardless of the weather outside.
CBT Compulsory Basic Training, Edinburgh
Report
The only documentation you must have to complete a CBT is a provisional or full car licence. Along with your photocard licence, you will need to provide a valid licence check code or provide us with your National Insurance number, so that we can check your licence online. If you have the old paper style licence, you will need to bring this as well as a passport as photo ID.
Theory Test
Report
If you want to get your full licence, you will need to take a Motorcycle Theory Test which is sat at a DSA Theory Test Centre. Unfortunately, your car Theory Test is not valid for the motorcycle tests, so a Motorcycle Theory and Hazard Perception Test must be completed before further training can commence.
Full Motorcycle Licence Training, Edinburgh
Report
If you want to get a full motorcycle licence, you first need to complete a CBT and Motorcycle Theory. If you do not pass both parts of your practical test within 2 years of completing the CBT and Theory test, then you'll have to start the process again. The practical motorcycle test is split into 2 separate modules.
