Stormpress are unusual in that we have a fully integrated studio and production facility. That means our design team can work closely with print production colleagues. This really pays dividends when clients require sophisticated finishes such as embossing, foiling, spot uv, or intricate die cutting.

Paper is one of the few truly sustainable products, it is recycled on average 3.5 times a year in Europe and 4x more trees are planted than harvested! Stormpress supports sustainable paper use through The Woodland trust's Carbon capture scheme. Together with The Woodland Trust we've created almost one square kilometer of UK woodland in 2018, capturing 36.46 tonnes of Carbon dioxide - here's our current certificate.

Organising print is a complex process. Bear in mind that until recently a printed piece went through a process involving many skilled craftsmen. Nowadays software tries to replace many of these processes but often masks any guidance needed to produce resilient press ready files. To aid understanding we've added a? to many of the processes and terms referred to in our web site but we're painfully aware that users may need greater explanation.
Vat

Most printed items attract the standard rate of vat. However there are some items which are zero rated for VAT purposes. These include most leaflets, flyers, books and booklets. The most contentious items are leaflets and flyers; and interpreting HMRC's definition of what a leaflet is. For the purposes of VAT a leaflet must be of an ephermerel nature and printed on a limp paper.
