Firstly a little about me. I've worked in the home furnishings trade now for almost twenty years, but decided to open Number 8 Shrewsbury in 2015 alongside my fiance and business partner James. In this time we have moved house, adopted a wee flock of sheep, a handful of chickens, a Welsh Springer to keep our beloved Labrador on his toes and I have become a Granny!
What I can also add, is how much our little shop has changed too! Having started out focusing just on beds, mattresses and furniture, I can assure you that even more has changed regarding the shop, and continues to do so! Whilst we still supply these lines, we have now introduced occasional furniture including armchairs, sofas, pouffes and tables as well as the most glorious lighting, and sumptuous bedding and accessories for your home.

From ottoman bases, traditional divans and headboards, metal bedsteads, wooden beds or upholstered beds we are sure we will be able to source your chosen style.

Your mattress is unquestionably the most important part of your bed. We have personally selected the best range from Hypnos to display in our store for customers to come and try to ensure they get the best match for their personal requirements. From a personal point of view, I am a hot blooded person so I am a firm believer in keeping all bedding as natural as is physically and financially possible!

Our duvets themselves are all made right here in the UK from Alpaca hair, all wonderfully encased in 100% cotton outer. The benefits of Alpaca hair has been widely recognised in clothing, however in a duvet it really comes in to its own. If you suffer with extreme heat fluctuations like I do, these duvets have proven my saving grace.
Brushed Cotton

Also referred to as flannelette or wynciette bedding, brushed cotton is exactly that.cotton that has gone through a brushing process to raise the fibers. This makes the feel of this bedding beautifully soft and cosy, but practically, it helps trap the warmth from your body to help keep you warmer and cosier for those colder nights.
